Animals are an important part of our world, regardless if it is for our food, our clothing, our livelihood, or as our friends, companions, even colleagues. Man’s fascination with animals has led various forces in the world to begin conserving and preserving our planet’s wildlife, to stop the extinction of any more species, and to increase awareness of animal conservation, as well as bring people to the wild side of our humanity. Sounds dark, yes? Well, it’s not as complicated as it seems, especially when all one needs to do to find out what it’s all about is to go to San Diego Zoo.

This Zoo is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city which attracts hundreds of visitors to its gates on a daily basis. This zoo was officially opened in 1915 and is located at the picturesque Balboa Park. The entire facility covers a total area of approximately 107 acres and is home to a variety of animals from around. Although the zoo is privately owned, it’s classified as a nonprofit organization and is run by the Zoological Society of this city. More than 8000 animals belonging to 800 species call the San Diego Zoo, one of the largest such facilities in the world their home.

This Zoo can be divided into nine sections which are differentiated by the habitats and the animals they support. The Polar Rim is one such section where you will find three more fascinating exhibits; the Arctic Aviary Exhibit, the Polar Bear Exhibit, and the Reindeer Exhibit. Panda Canyon, Asian Passage, Elephant Odyssey, Urban Jungle, Africa Rocks, Lost Forest, the Outback and the Discovery Outpost complete the park exhibit list.

San Diego Zoo is, arguably, the world’s most advanced zoo. It is also one of the greatest zoos, spanning over 107 acres, each one of which is called home by some animals totaling over 4,000 from over 800 species. These animals are there, not just for the visitors to enjoy, but also to increase the awareness of people when it comes to animal conservation. It is truly a perfect place for animal lovers worldwide, whether they love the furry, the scary, the scary, the lovable, or the fierce.

The animals, however, are just one big facet of the zoo’s importance and value, even if it is indeed one big aspect. In addition to having a lot of animals, San Diego Zoo has also led many efforts and techniques when it comes to animal care and conservation. In addition to the procedures and rules enforced by the zoo, the animals of San Diego Zoo also thrive because of the way their enclosures are built. These exhibits are made to specification, catering to the particular needs of each animal. They are designed based on themes, from the African jungles and rainforests to the snowy Arctic plains and tundras, and everything else in between. The reasons for this is to make sure that the animals stay as close to their natural habitats as possible, and therefore, act, live and thrive the way they were supposed to in the wild.

San Diego Zoo, one of the best-known zoos in the world you should not miss while you are in San Diego city. Once you are in the zoo, you may find yourself difficult to leave the place. It has so much to offer.

PS: If you need a private taxi or car service to get there, you can count on us!

When you hear someone saying “La Jolla” in Spanish, it simply means “Jewel.” That’s a perfect name for the beautiful village located on the coast just north of San Diego. Spend a vacation in these spectacular surroundings, and you will feel like you have discovered a real gem of your own. The ambiance is one of absolute scenic beauty! In La Jolla, you will forget about work and the stress of life, except relaxing with those you love.

Boasting some of California’s most beautiful terrain and attractions, La Jolla (pronounced la hoya) is also the home of beautiful arts, restaurants, activities, and shopping. By mixing upscale living with popular activities, you will fall in love with the lifestyle and the community! Those blessed enough to reside in this seaside heaven, are surrounded by beautiful Mediterranean architecture. All along the shoreline to the different business districts, this region will have you gasping with awe.

The sea surrounds the village on the slope of Mt. Soledad serving as its background. Visitors come to this quaint village for a chance to relax on its sandy shore and enjoy its Mediterranean-like weather. La Jolla has also become a favorite vacation getaway for the rich, which is evident by the number of million-dollar homes that line its coast. The beaches are, of course, one of the main reasons you want to spend time in La Jolla. Summer and autumn, in particular, are popular times because of the gentle surf and warm waters. It can get very busy during these periods as well, so try to come early in the morning or late in the afternoon if you want to avoid the crowd.

There is the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Founded in 1960, UCSD is one of the 10 University of California campuses. The Scripps Institution of Oceanography, which predated UCSD, is now a part of the University, and is a designated sea and space grant institution; meaning a lot of research takes place there (check this one out about identity theft).

A visit to The Cave Store affords visitors the opportunity to descend a 100-year-old stairway, into a human-made tunnel, down into the fascinating and mysterious Sunny Jim Cave – the largest of several ocean caves in La Jolla Cove. If you need help getting around town, you can book our car service online in a couple minutes.

The cave’s first owner, Sunny Jim, hired two Chinese laborers in the early 1900’s to dig this underground tunnel down to the cave. Using only picks and shovels, they carried all the dirt out by hand. In the 1910’s, the only way the public could get to the cave was by lowering them down a rope. Today, you can take 145 stairs from The Cave Store. Sunny Jim Cave is the only sea cave in California that you can enter from a stairway.

Be sure to take a drive up Nautilus Street to the pinnacle of the city, the top of Mount Soledad. Dr. Seuss and his wife Audrey lived for years in the Seuss house on this mountain. From the park, at the peak, you can see San Clemente Island 65 miles west in the blue Pacific, North County beaches to the north and the San Diego downtown skyline and the Mexican border beyond to the south. The view is just spectacular at night. The site is well known for the controversy generated by the Easter Cross war memorial that towers above the peak.

Whether you’re traveling alone for business or taking the family on vacation, La Jolla will take your breath away. With so many attractions, you’ll have to come back again to do it all.

If you’re looking to visit San Diego, then your visit is undoubtedly incomplete without dropping by the Balboa Park. As the single largest urban cultural park in the whole of the United States, Balboa Park has much to offer to its visitors. Most of the time, they referred to it is known as the “Smithsonian of the West” for the concentration of cultural institutions within its boundaries.

The San Diego Balboa Park was originally built for temporary use during the years 1915 and 1916 of the Panama-California Exposition. The buildings here, however, are beautiful enough to be considered as attractions in themselves, but most people are drawn to the culture, history, science, and arts held within their walls. Balboa Park boasts of eight gardens, fifteen museums, a Tony-Award winning theater, and the Zoo.

At its heart, Balboa Park is as its name implies a place for a place that provides a pleasant environment for relaxation. Visitors will find a multitude of trees and other plant life throughout the park grounds interspersed amidst several enclosed and open garden areas. These include the Japanese Friendship Garden, the Botanical Building, the Cactus Garden and more.

At its very simplest, visitors can merely traverse to discover the sheer variety of plant life on offer. But Balboa Park has more to offer through a host of other attractions that can be found running along the prominent El Prado. Located in the heart of the park this extensive and long promenade features a range of structures constructed in a typical Spanish Colonial Revival Style.

Museums are one of Balboa Park’s strongest points with an offering of a remarkable 15 different museums. The area of focus varies greatly among these museums through there is undeniably a strong emphasis on art with the San Diego Art Institute, Museum of Photographic Art and the San Diego Museum of Art to name a few, however other museums include the San Diego Railroad Museum and the Natural History Museum.

Events are yet another staple at Balboa Park encompassing both the theatrical and the musical. The park has earned itself a quite a reputation for events through its formidable offering of event venues that include the Spreckels Organ Pavilion, Old Globe Theatre Complex and Starlight Bowl which is an outdoor amphitheater. Balboa Park also houses the Morley Field Sports Complex that features a golf course, baseball fields, tennis club, archery range, swimming pool and discusses golf course providing further variety.

And speaking of families, Balboa Park is a great place to spend time together. Kids who are interested in planes, trains, automobiles, dinosaurs, planets, sports, art, flowers and animals will all find something to enjoy during a day in the Park. There are also kid-friendly museums such as the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, the San Diego Air & Space Museum, the San Diego Natural History Museum as well as the Automotive Museum and the Hall of Champions. And if Halloween is your favorite holiday, you certainly don’t want to miss the Haunted Trail of Balboa Park.

San Diego is California’s second-largest city. Due in large part to the pleasant climate and long stretches of beaches; this town has become a premier tourist and retirement destination. The city has capitalized on this eagerly, combining its reputation as an environmental and wildlife conservation to erect a series of tourist draws and attractions such as the San Diego Zoo, the Wild Animal Park, and SeaWorld. Amusement parks and recreation centers for families also abound in the city; it is also hosted memorable international events such as Comic-Con, the Buick International Golf Tournament, the Street Scene Music Festival and the Del Mar Fair. This location draws over 30 million visitors per year.

Belmont Park is one of the most popular entertainment venues boasted by this city. Located in the Mission Bay area, this is an oceanfront amusement park that boasts a history of nearly a century. Several of the original rides and amusements developed by John D Spreckels remain; the Giant Dipper is a wooden rollercoaster which appears on the National Register of Historic Places. The Plunge is an indoor swimming pool also from the days of the Roaring Twenties; what was originally a saltwater tank is now a freshwater pool which is adorned by a beautiful painting entitled “Orcas off Point Loma.”

First opened in May 1905, Belmont Park provides American Thoroughbred horse racing with one of its most spectacular venues. With the largest dirt course in Thoroughbred racing – a big mile-and-a-half main dirt track – Belmont Park features, among other things, the Jockey Club Gold Cup, Metropolitan Handicap, and most importantly the Belmont Stakes, the final race in America’s Triple Crown. Most of the great racehorses of the twentieth century have competed there, including Secretariat, whose statue graces the parking paddock.

Rides such like Liberty Carousel, The Vertical Plunge, Tilt-a-Whirl, Thunder Boats, Krazy Kars and Speedway Bumper Cars, are what visitors can enjoy. Ride the human-made waves and play mini golf in a glow in the dark course, take a dip in the pool, get lost in the mirror or laser maze, climb your way up a mountain, and win big at the arcade center or game stations. The Wave House Bar and Grill is notable for its two artificial waves, the larger of which is an 8 foot Flow Barrel by the name Bruticus Maximus. The smaller sheet stream is called Flow Rider. The amusement park keeps developing to ensure anticipation and variety in the line-up of this long-running family entertainment venue.

You might as well just check it out, even if you just want to take a stroll along the boardwalk and have a look around. If you decide to try out some rides, wave rides or other attractions, you can purchase tickets when you arrive. And as always, use Finest City for all your airport transportation needs!
